HardTrack Desktop app Network Requirements for Software Installation

Please note: Most HardTrack Desktop users currently access HardTrack Desktop from the Web rather than installing the app on their PC.  These instructions are only for users who install the HardTrack Desktop app on their PC.


1) The HardTrack Desktop app connects to the HardTrack Database:

 

www.myhardtrack.net on port 3306 for bidirectional access to MySQL.

 

2) When HardTrack Desktop sends commands to the IoT devices, HardTrack Cloud Sensors, used with the HardTrack system, HardTrack Desktop connects to this server:

 

 

using HttpWeb commands

To test this connection, click on the above link from a PC within your network.  When prompted for a user id and password, please use these credentials:

User id:       HardTrack_Test

Password:  HardTrack_Test#$@1

Upon successful connection, you will an XML file appear in your browser, similar this:

3) When HardTrack Desktop software updates are applied, which will need to be applied before HardTrack Desktop can be used, HardTrack connects to


and uses FTP on port 21 using a secure connection

The following are the instruction for installing the HardTrack Desktop app software on a Windows PC:
You will need Windows Administrative authority to install HardTrack on your PC.

1) You will receive an invitation from customer_care@wakeinc.com to join a shared Dropbox folder.  Please accept this invitation.
AlertIf you need access to the shared Dropbox folder that contains the HardTrack Desktop Installation software.  Please contact Wake, Inc.

2) copy the folder named: HardTrack Desktop 5.1._01.12 Install to your PC, for example into the downloads folder.

3) after copying the installation folder to your computer, open it and double click on setup.exe
- you will be prompted to accept the license agreement during the installation process.

4) after the installation is complete, locate the HardTrack software icon in the Windows  start menu, then right-click on the HardTrack Icon and run the software are Administrator

- This will allow HardTrack to update the Firewall on your PC, so that HardTrack can access the HardTrack Cloud Database and communicate with the HardTrack Cloud Sensor II (HTC II) devices.

5) as soon as HardTrack loads, before attempting to use any other options in the software, click on Options, General Options, Check Now

- this will update HardTrack to the latest release, 5.1._01.13 or higher, which supports all of the functions available for the HTC II devices.
- you may be prompted regarding an update that needs to be applied to the update software, please accept this.
