How to move virtual sensors from one logging project to another

Situation: When Restarting Logging on a placement, you receive a message that a Virtual Sensor is assigned to another actively logging project

Why does this happen?

This situation usually occurs when someone adds 2 devices or more to the prior placement, with, for example, 20700-A being the last added device.
- HardTrack will replace the virtual sensors related to the last-added device as you add each device to a project.
Later, device 20700-A is removed from the placement, leaving the virtual sensors related to 20700-A logging in the placement.

When someone adds 20700-A to a new placement, HardTrack adds the virtual sensors related to  20700-A to the new placement.
Then, when logging is started on the new placement, this issue occurs, where HardTrack asks you if you want to switch the sensors to your current project.

If the other/older placement is still active and needs to log more data, it is okay to switch the virtual sensors to the new placement, then go back to the old placement and add whatever device is logging on that placement to the project again. This will add the virtual sensors back to the older placement, using the virtual sensors related to the device logging on the older placement.

You will likely need to start logging on the old placement at that point, which is harmless and will activate the newly added virtual NWS sensors related to the device assigned to the older placement.

How to avoid this situation?

1) If a device needs to be replaced in a logging project, use the Switch/Exchange option in HardTrack, rather than adding another device to the project manually.
2) If you add several different devices to a placement/project, when you have arrived at the device you would like to use, re-add the final device to the placement/project, so that the virtual sensors related to that device are added to the project, rather than leaving a different device's virtual sensors in the placement/project.

Don't worry about the data associated with virtual sensors.  All of their data comes from a national weather service data feed.  When new virtual sensors are added to a placement at any time, the data is regenerated and loaded into the project at the next logging interval, back to the beginning of the placement's pour date and time.

How to correct the situation?

Click, Yes to this message, and the sensor will be switched to your current project.

You will later be asked if you want to start logging for all sensors in the project. You can answer this yes or no, that is up to you.  Neither will cause any harm.

You may have to switch each of the virtual NWS sensors to your current project by clicking on each of them and restarting logging.

Note: The virtual/NWS sensors will start populating with data at the next logging interval for the project
