HTC Gateway - How to set up a new Concrete Pour - Best Practices
Starting with version 5.1._02.33 of HardTrack Desktop, this is the best procedure to follow to set up a new HardTrack Project and Start the Sensors/Tags Logging.
On your PC using HardTrack Desktop, start by adding Known Sensors to your new HardTrack Project
Open the Known Tags/Sensors folder, which will contain tags that were shipped to you by Wake, Inc. You can also click on any other project folder to select a known tag.
If you have been using HardTrack Mobile for some time, you will find the Known Tags inside the various Project name folders, rather than inside a folder named Known Tags.
Note: For new HardTrack Mobile users, if the Known Tags folder is not present on your PC, click on Project, Open
Click on Known Tags
Click on Project New
Now when you click on Add Known Tags, the Known Tags Folder containing the Sensors/Tags will be present.
Click on a Tag you would like to add to your Project.
Click No to the question asking if you want to copy Temperature Logs along with the Sensors
Repeat the process of adding Known Tags until you have all of the Sensors/Tags added to your new Project.
You also have the option to add the Ambient Temperature Sensor located on the HTC-Gateway to your project:
Save your Project with a name
Open each sensor by double-clicking on it and assign the Location Name, Concrete Type, and any Notes that you would like regarding the sensor.
You will only need to assign the Concrete Type to one of the sensors. HardTrack will add the same Concrete Type to all of the Sensors for you.
Once you have all of the Sensor assigned a name, click on Options, Project Duration, to set the Pour Date and Time for all of your Sensors/Tags:
After selecting or entering the Pour Date and Time, Click the Green button to update all of the Sensors/Tags
This is a good time to review the Default Logging Interval to make certain that this is set to the value you need for your project.
Then Click OK
You will be prompted to save your Project.
Before you take the next steps, please be sure to place your sensors in a location that the HTC Gateway can communicate with each of them.
It is a good idea to take the option to Reuse the Sensors before you Start Logging.
- if a Sensor has not already been initialized, HardTrack will initialize it. This will update the Sensor to allow communications at longer distances.
- clear any old data on the Sensors, so that HardTrack does not have to read through old temperature data each time it uploads from the Sensors
Click on Sensors, Reuse Wireless Sensor(s), Reuse All Sensors
You are now ready to Start Logging, which will update each Sensor to Start Logging, and Schedule the HTC Gateway to automatically Read each Sensor in your project, based upon the Default Logging Interval that you have set in the Project Duration Preferences mentioned above.
Click on Logging, Restart All
The HTC Gateway will now automatically read all of the sensors in your project, based upon the logging interval that you have set.
If at anytime you would like to manually read a single sensor or all of the sensors in your project, please do the following:
Open your project, then click on Sensors, Read Sensor(s), Read All Sensors
If you would like to read only a single sensor, highlight the sensor by single clicking on it, then click Sensors, Read Sensor(s), Read Sensor
To view your project on your cell phone, PC, or tablet, you can obtain a secure link to your project be doing the following:
Open your Project, then click on the Summary button in the lower right:
After the Summary Report appears in your PC's browser, click on the link at the top and copy it using Ctrl-c
Then past the link into an email or text message that you can use to retrieve the current temperature data for your project at anytime.
While viewing your project in the browser using this link, you can see a chart of your project by pressing on the Full Chart button in the lower left:
To export the temperature data from your project into the Excel based Project Temperature Report:
Open your project, Click on Project, Export Data, Open Project - Temperature Reports
There are many options to add additional columns to your report and the chart that is generated. After you have selected the options that you require, click on Excel Export:
If you made any selections to add to your report, you will be asked if you would like to save the settings so that next time you run the report, the checkboxes will already to selected for you.
